Machine Guns
A machine gun (MG) is a fully automatic (self-loading) firearm designed for sustained direct fire with a rifle cartridge (5.56 or 7.62 NATO). Other automatic firearms, such as automatic pump-action shotguns and submachine guns (including assault rifles), are typically designed for short bursts rather than continuous firepower and are not considered true machine guns.
The Minigun is a 7.62×51mm NATO six-barrel rotary machine gun with a high rate of fire (2000 to 6000 rounds per minute). Externally powered, usually an electric motor, Gatling-style spinning irons.
