Who are they?
NERV CENTR® – For whom and Why
By giving users better control over their power management, Galvion’s Nerv Centr® products change the mission – by supporting equipment longer and increasing reliability. Nerv Center products are designed to be versatile, widely compatible, and fast and easy to connect – For power collection and distribution on long-term missions in remote and harsh environments. In today’s battlefield, where electronic devices play a key role, this is an important support system and safety net for power management technology. The tasks below describe a cross-section of the uses of the Nerv Center. The best examples of adaptability and high-performance for SharePack, SoloPack, SPM, MAX-8. Recharge your batteries from whatever source.
Battlespace management systems – BMS
Understanding the military operating environment has evolved from a largely linear concept of a “battlefield” to a multidimensional set of systems known as the “battlespace”. This understanding of systems means that battlespace management has become more complex and field commanders should understand the impact of their activities on the operational environment as a whole. To this end, unit- and individual-level battle management systems (BMS) are becoming increasingly important – the US Army’s NETT Warrior program is just one example.
Combat Search-and-Rescue Prolonged Field Care – CSAR/PJ/PFC)
Increased medical capability and automation of laboratory, documentation, and monitoring equipment has dramatically changed how patients are managed in the field. Additionally, decreases in equipment size and power consumption—and the ability to quickly build and manage local mesh networks. It has led to the delivery of first-world hospital care capability to even the most remote and inhospitable parts of the globe. While these technological advances have greatly increased the operational capability of medical teams, they also now deploy with a host of communications, computing, and medical equipment All of which require batteries to sit on a patient for extended periods of time to provide field medical care. “Golden Hour” is significantly extended and the need to provide power for austere prolonged field medical care from a ruck, truck, wall, or plane is ever more critical.
Expeditionary/Dismounted infantry power – INF
Today’s expeditionary/dismounted infantry forces have to be rapidly-deployable, highly-mobile, and mission-adaptable. To this end, they are equipped with high-tech communications, sensor, and situational awareness systems to maximize effectiveness and minimize risk. Units use power management systems to recharge standard BB-2590 batteries, MBITR radio batteries, wearable batteries, and many more. Power is needed to run laptops, tablets, GPS devices, cameras, PDAs, and UAS and UGV batteries.
Explosive Ordnance Demolition – EOD
Explosive Ordinance Disposal teams need a wide range of tools to perform their range of tasks, they need heavy protective gear to help keep them safe, and they need to always be one step ahead of the bad guys. EOD operators do much more than just defuse unexploded bombs; they’re trained to disarm improvised explosive devices, to neutralize chemical threats, and even render nuclear weapons safe. Assigned to some of the most dangerous missions, they perform tactically harrowing and technically demanding tasks in austere environments worldwide. They use a wide range of power tools and electronic equipment to get the job done.
Extended Fire Support – JTAC/FO/CCT/TAC-P
To effectively mitigate risk to ground forces in modern conflicts, the application of indirect fires; close air support (CAS); and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) aerial platforms is typically a requirement. The Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) or Joint Fires Observer (JFO) is the Ground Force Commander’s (GFC’s) tool to control the battlespace using artillery and aerial platforms. The JTAC/JFO uses several different pieces of electronic equipment to communicate with supporting elements and safely and effectively direct fires.
Special Operations Communications – SOF
Special Operations Forces (SOF) are tasked with conducting a wide array of missions in austere and uncertain situations, for extended periods of time. SOF communicators must have the ability to effectively communicate between elements, to higher headquarters, and with their partner forces using multiple organic and non-organic radios, computers, and other devices. Based on their mission, environment, and reporting criteria, SOF communicators may have several PACE plans to account for, with multiple communications platforms in each plan.
Recon, Surveillance, Target Analysis – RSTA
SOF teams and small, specialized units are often tasked with reconnaissance and surveillance on a target—to gather intelligence, situational awareness, and pattern of life (POL) for follow-on action. This information is gathered using state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, cameras, and sensors. Information must be transmitted back to planners and other forces by SATCOM or other radio waveforms.
Unmanned Systems – UAV/UGV
Remote and undeveloped locations present serious obstacles for keeping drone batteries charged. Military UAV and UGV operators often face significant challenges to keep their platform and ground station batteries charged in such conditions. Portable power management solutions can be carried or worn and draw power from any available source—such as a solar array, a vehicle DC outlet, an AC plug, or scavenged from spare or found batteries. Operators use these systems to convert and use that power to charge platform, ground station, or support equipment batteries, with more batteries being charged sequentially.
Dynamic Energy Management
Our solutions work independently to get the job done, or in tandem for extreme power needs. The SoloPack™ energy module is a super high density unit that is the same size and weight as a 30 round magazine, and can provide enough energy for a 12-hour mission for a high tech user.
The Squad Power Manager™ (SPM) and Individual Power Manager™ (IPM) are compact, rugged power management solutions with intelligent software that allows the users at the squad and individual level to power a variety of equipment and recharge batteries with no reprogramming required.
Mission Adaptive Charging Station™ (MAX-8) can charge multiple batteries through custom-made adapters suited to the mission, while automatically evaluating the power source and adjusting charge rates to maximize power and minimize charge time. We have created specific kits for the U.S. Marine Corps, Air National Guard, and other international operators when they need advanced power management capabilities, no matter the environment, duration or mission size.

+ MAX-8 – Intelligent battery charging system.
MAX-8 can draw power from virtually any source, and can charge different types of batteries simultaneously – with no reprogramming needed. The intelligent plug-and-play power management system automatically evaluates the power source and adjusts charge rates to maximize power and minimize charge time.
+ SPM-EOD – Total power from any available source.
The SPM-622 can draw, or ‘scavenge’, power from any source batteries, solar blankets, vehicle power outlets, or the local A/C power grid. The device then automatically converts that power to run electronic equipment, as well as simultaneously charging one or more batteries.
+ SPM-Special-Forces-Kit – Total power from any available source.
The SPM-622 can draw, or ‘scavenge’, power from any source batteries, solar blankets, vehicle power outlets, or the local A/C power grid. The device then automatically converts that power to run electronic equipment, as well as simultaneously charging one or more batteries.
+ IPM – Next-generation rugged, intelligent and portable power management.
The Individual Power Manager can draw power from any source – vehicle or aircraft power outlet, solar blanket, primary and secondary batteries, and more – anywhere in the world. With its built-in intelligent power management software, the IPM can power a variety of equipment and recharge batteries simultaneously – no reprogramming required.
+ SharePack – Save, Export, Collect and Share Battery Bank for Soldiers.
Offering flexibility, upgradable software and seamless plug-and-play, the system adapts to charge or provide power to a broad range of electronic devices and can be powered quickly by equipment such as a solar blanket or vehicle. Combining multiple SharePacks creates a larger energy reserve to support power-hungry ground equipment.
